Sound & Lighting Design
In 2013, Finale opened it's doors at 199 Bowery, NYC. A hybrid nightclub and restaurant ("clubsteraunt"), Finale took inspiration from the golden age of theater and was built like a "padded vault" with tufted blue leather covering the walls to help control sound, incandescent old-timey lightbulbs for a bit of analogue flair, and a marquis outside to let patrons know they'd arrived at the right location. While the decor harkened back to a byegone era, the sound, video, and lighting system were comprised of state-of-the art technology.
Jason Ojeda and his team designed and installed the systems at Finale and cut no corners in the process. The sound system was comprised of Void Accoustic cabinets powered by McIntosh amplifiers. LED tiles enveloped the dancefloor and surrounded patrons with moving images and a cutting-edge lighting system elevated the excitement and contrasted sharply with the retro lightbulbs adorning the rest of the space.
