High Holy Days 5782

A Change of Plans

As summer 2021 was winding down, concerns around the COVID Delta variant were ramping up. Faced with rising infection numbers, and out of concern for the safety of its community; Lab/Shul decided to migrate its High Holy Days services fully-online livestream production less than two weeks before Rosh Hashannah.

Initially planned as four days of in-person worship services for thousands of its community members, Lab/Shul was faced with the overwhelming challenge of reformatting its program for an online audience. The year prior, Global AV Group worked with Lab/Shul for three months in preparation of the production. This time, the migration had to happen in two weeks.

Learning from the Past

Lab/Shul was able to, once again, secure City Winery Hudson Valley for its High Holy Days livestream and this meant that, once again, Global would need to provision dedicated internet lines to three separate rooms as it had the year before. Though provisioning time (ordinarily 30 days) posed a challenge, Global was able to leverage a vendor relationship and get the internet provisioned and tested days before the event.

Global archives all of its production documents, floor plans, project files, and pre-production work from past events. Because of this, Global's team was able to pre-produce the High Holy Days event in the very short amount of available time and help Lab/Shul move forward extremely quickly with its planning process.

In the end and despite the event coming together at the last minute; Lab/Shul's High Holy Days 5782 was hugely successful. The online event was very well attended and Lab/Shul's team received numerouns compliments on the audio/visual quality of the broadcast.
