HLM on AIDS
The High-Level Meeting on AIDS took place June 8-10, 2021. The high-level meeting reviewed the progress made in reducing the impact of HIV since the last United Nations General Assembly high-level meeting on HIV and AIDS in 2016. Global AV Group supported the meeting's worldwide online brodcast by designing and configuring a custom online hub built on the InEvent platform.
Global's virtual-event production team worked collaboratively with the UNAIDS stakeholders to build the platform as a viewing destination for livestream broadcasts from the UN. In addition to the UN broadcast, Global's team created dozens of individual breakout rooms so that UNAIDS partner organizations from all over the world had dedicated space to congregate, present, and discuss relevant topics.
The InEvent platform was flexible enough to allow Global's team to embed a custom player capeable of decoding multi-channel audio. This allowed viewers to listen to the program in any of the 5 UN languages.
24-Hour Tech Support
In all, the program had an audience of more than 20,000 people from all over the world. Because of that, Global AV Group's technical support team needed to be available 24hrs per day in order to receive and respond to requests for technical assistance. Global's crew worked in continuous eight-hour shifts in order to ensure the company was responsive and helpful.
In preparation to receive nternational tech support requests, Global collaborated with the UNAIDS team to draft onboarding instructions in five languages and make sure those were disseminated and accessible to all festival attendees automatically based on those attendees browser language settings.
Building on the InEvent platform allowed Global to integrate critical functionality like integrating the multi-channel audio stream required to allow viewers to listen to the livestream broadcasts in all 5 UN languages. The platform's flexibility allowed Global's team to be highy flexible and responsive, to on-the-fly change requests from the international partner organizations.
